The state of the budget in California has impacted Orchard School District. Facing a $16 billion state budget shortfall, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed $4.8 billion in school-funding cuts, or 10 percent of education spending. Therefore, Orchard is looking at all avenues of increasing funding in attempt to enhance the budget.
